Hi, I’m Yun Xie. I’m originally from China and now based in the Netherlands. My work is a fusion of two worlds: the deep cultural roots of my Chinese background and the contemporary influences I’ve found living in Europe. I express this through sculpture, painting, and ceramics, often blending traditional Chinese motifs with modern themes.
After moving to the Netherlands, I began exploring art as a way to express myself and connect with both where I come from and where I am now. That creative journey turned into a full-time passion. I’m mostly self-taught, which has allowed me to develop a style that feels honest and personal. My pieces often center on human figures, daily life, and Buddhist influences with moments of stillness, emotion, and reflection.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to exhibit my work at some amazing venues, including the Amsterdam International Art Fair, Artshopping at the Louvre in Paris, and several Dutch art fairs. I’m also a member of the 'Haagse Kunstkring', which helps keep me connected to the Dutch art community
For me, art is a conversation between cultures, between the past and the present, and between the inner world and the outside one. I’m excited to keep exploring that space and see where it takes me next
